Another good day at Convention Alley. Once again, I missed the morning talks - I was working on my own - but excellent talks were given by Yolanda Carroll (on motherhood in Harry Potter - also occurring at Portus 2008) and John Granger (on Snape, Dante, and Symbolism - excellent, brilliant stuff, as always). My presentation, “Of Fountains, Fabians, and Freedoms: Dumbledore as Fabius Maximus and Libertarian Headmaster,” went over fairly well, with lots of good discussion afterwards.
My second talk will be tomorrow at 10am, after which I’ll be heading home.
Other important notes: HP Progs found what might be a new cover for an edition of Half-Blood Prince corresponding with the film release. Thoughts? Very interesting that they chose, “I am not afraid. I am with you” to be quoted on the cover.
There just hasn’t been time for a podcast. I fear I won’t get to one until sometime during this upcoming week. I’ll be announcing the next giveaway contest and its rules.
There are a couple of really great C.S. Lewis titles coming out from Zossima Press. I’ll keep you posted as they become available and write up some stuff about them here. You’ll want to have them.
