Updates: Please take note of the changes at the site. I’ve added a “Schedule” page for my speaking engagements (as well as a downloadable promotional flyer that you can give to your universities, book stores, schools, libraries, and churches - and yes, I’ll put a less blurry picture on it soon), and the PubCast now has a home page which links to the archives and iTunes subscription.
- New article at Suite101.com: a brief summary of the whole nutty concept of Harry Potter Conferences. (I gotta keep posting occasional Potter stuff there…my readership has dropped 37% since I last wrote a Potter article)
- One last push on the Facebook thing: We’ve currently got 34 members. We need just five more to join The Hog’s Head Blog Network page, and we’ll have broken the Top 50! So if you haven’t done so yet, join now!
- Big Secret Revealed: Harry Potter is a favorite among adults also.
- There’s still time to register for Portus 2008. I’ll be posting a short interview with Aziza, head of PR for Portus, soon.
- There will also be a forthcoming interview with Sheryll Townsend, the brains behind Convention Alley (and one of the key players in the whole idea of HP conferences to begin with).

So I did my duty and went to Suite 101 and read your last few articles. Their content makes me wonder about the readership of the website and your target audience: conservative, religious non-racist libertarians? A very interesting niche group.
I liked your article on the Christian Calendar, found to my dismay that there was actually one thing I agreed on with Bush (the building blocks of literacy, not the need for rote), and wanted to sign up immediately for a conference on medical-legal matters held aboard a cruise-ship.

Ha! I’m sort of testing target audiences at the moment, seeing which articles get the best response, most hits, etc.
The readership of the site itself is exceedingly broad.

I, too, have been faithfully checking out your articles on Suite 101. And not just the Potter ones. You may notice I’ve disagreed with you on Bob Barr.

Yes, I noticed you’re a bit less optimistic about Barr’s impact than I am

Okay, I think I’ve joined The Hogshead page over at Facebook.
