If any Hog’s Head patrons in Southern CA are interested in having me speak on Harry Potter at a local library, bookstore, coffee shop, or any other venue, I will to be there with my two favorite girls in the world for a week and a half - July 17-27 (23-24 are out - two days at the San Diego Zoo!). Feel free to download the promotional flyer (which I’ve updated again - pdf now - and is also available on the Schedule page).

Don’t know that I have any gigs for you (though I’ll ask my library bosses–but I think our schedule is planned 4-6 mos. in advance). But I live just north of San Diego (Del Mar) and so if you want to talk Potter and theology over a cup of coffee on the Sunday or Monday while your family bakes in the sun on the beach, I’d be game.

Skip the zoo- go to the wild animal park. It’s much nicer.
I’m in SoCal and would love to see you talk, but I’m in a rather inaccessible area; I doubt you would want to come way out here, and I doubt I could get transportation to somewhere more convenient.

We traveled on vacation to CA about three years ago.
Started at San Francisco and then rented a car and drove down Pacific Hwy.#1 along the coast stopping at various sites along the way, Big Sur National Park home of the giant redwoods, Hearst Mansion, Monterey Bay Aquarium, etc. all the way down to San Diego which was my favorite city. Beautiful city parks and yes of course the world famous San Diego Zoo.
My daughter was a teen when we made the trip Travis, but I ‘m sure you, Tricia and little Sophia would love to visit Knotts Berry and Disneyland as well. Sophia would be a little young yet for the rides but I know she would love the Disney characters and the children’s shows for her age group. Plus its a great place for Mom and Dad to walk around catch a show or two. There is also Sea World.
Lots to do around So.CA
Godspeed
