Sophia Grace Prinzi was born July 22 at 10:15pm, 8 lbs, 2 oz. After 3 and a half straight days of attempting induced labor, she was taken by C-section. It was easily three of the hardest days of my life, and most certainly the hardest three my wife has ever faced. She’s recovering upstairs in the hospital room, Sophia in her arms. She’s a beautiful little girl.
My grandfather, Charles Prinzi, Sr., passed away on Thursday, peacefully, in his sleep, at home in his living room, where the hospice bed was set up so that he could watch a few more Yankees games before he left. The funeral, which, sadly, I will most likely miss (I was supposed to do a Scripture reading), will be held tomorrow at 10am.
I see that conversation has been rolling right along here, and I promise to catch up in a few days when we get home from the hospital. (If you’re from the HogPro boards, please drop a note for me there, and I’ll try to catch up there later this week as well).

Condolences and congrats.
I just had a C-section 2 months ago, and I know how tough that is.
How wonderful about your new baby daughter and how sad for the loss of your grandfather. Here’s hoping you all find strength and comfort.
Condolences and congratulations also. Best wishes to your wife and newborn daughter too.
Travis, congratulations to you and your wife on the birth of your daughter and my sympathy on the passing of your grandfather.
Likewise.
congratulations and welcome little one.
sympathy for the loss of your grandfather.
I am sad to hear about your loss, but happy for you and your wife’s gain. At least your grandfather passed away in such peace. Who could ask for more?
