Nice job on the article. I thought that the last sentence was especially powerful.
I can’t help but think of Vernon Dursley as you describe a “scientific fatalist.” Also of the fact that trying to explain things to children can reawaken your awe at the mystery of it all. My kids are fascinated by the fact that cows, who eat only grass or hay, can somehow turn that into milk. Magic!
