Leaky is reporting, “Scholastic, the US publishers of the Harry Potter novels, have updated their website with additional information regarding some of the content to be found in the new “Tales of the Beedle the Bard” book by J.K. Rowling due December 4 of this year. Noting the material written 18 months before his death, Professor Albus Dumbledore is said to reveal ” not just his vast knowledge of Wizarding lore, but also more of his personal qualities: his sense of humor, his courage, his pride in his abilities, and his hard-won wisdom.” Of particular interest are the new details we can expect to find regarding “Aberforth Dumbledore, Lucius Malfoy and his family, and Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington (or “Nearly Headless Nick”), as well as other professors at Hogwarts and the past owners of the Elder Wand. Dumbledore tells us of incidents unique to the Wizarding world, like hilariously troubled theatrical productions at Hogwarts or the dangers of having a “hairy heart.” But he also reveals aspects of the Wizarding world that his Muggle readers might find all too familiar, like censorship, intolerance, and questions about the deepest mysteries in life.”

Sounds like a must have book with all the extra information! Just so long as she doesn’t go off on a high horse about you know what…

Oh, I also think all this ‘new’ information Jo is providing kind of tells us about whether or not she’s really moving on to new projects or not. She’s made such a rich, detailed world that she could keep writing on this stuff forever. We’ve still got Hogwarts, A History, Nature’s Nobility: A Wizarding Geneaology, & The Life & Lies of Albus Dumbledore to look forward to. :)

Thanks for the link revgeorge. I’m loving all the extra information that will be in the Beedle the Bard book. I doubt JKR will write The Life & Lies of Albus Dumbledore, but Hogwarts: A History, I definitely see her doing. She has extensively planned and written loads of backstory for her world. I can picture all her notebooks containing all of this. Truly remarkable.

That said, I’m excited about the Harry Potter theme park. Just looking at the concept art for the Three Broomsticks and I just can’t wait for it to finish and go there. Imagine ordering Rosmerta’s Butterbeer or perhaps some Firewhiskey. :)
