Several items of interest:
- Autographed Copies of Harry Potter & Imagination: I’ve been getting this question a lot: “How do I get a signed copy?” It’s easy! Pre-order the book from Zossima.com. Zossima and I have worked out a way to get my signature on copies of books ordered from Zossima’s website. So go ahead and get your copy! We’re hoping for sometime in the first two weeks of December for a release date, as long as we don’t hit anymore snags along the way.
- Speaking of pre-orders, there are currently 4 books available for pre-order at Zossima.com. I recommend them all, but I want to draw special attention to James Thomas’s Repotting Harry Potter, which I’ve mentioned several times here. You’re going to love it.
- The new Hogwarts Radio podcast asked me to join their discussion on the new Half-Blood Prince trailer. It’ll be available later today, and I’ll update then with a link.
- Special thanks to Greg and Penny for their very kind words and plug for my book in Episode #93. Episode #93 is well worth your time, and I wrote an entire chapter on this issue – feminist readings of Harry Potter - in my book.
- Speaking of trailer reactions and HP Progs, Penny joined Mugglecast for their reaction to the new trailer – listen to Mugglecast episode #163 here!

Thanks for the plug, Travis! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the trailer!
Thanks for the Plug as well. I hope we can get this trailer out soon! There were a few snags we had to fix…
Travis, which way to pre-order would be most advantageous for you?
Professor L, right now, there’s only one way to pre-order, and that’s at Zossima.com.
Preordered a copy of Thomas’s book tonight.
Thanks for joining us for the discussion. I’m definitely going to pre-order a copy of the book. Hope to have you on again, and we appreciate the plug as well.
Terrance, thanks! It was good to chat with you all. Yes, feel free to call on me again, perhaps with just a little more notice
I got an e-mail from Zossima today. They said 3 weeks for your book Travis. Looking forward to the ensuing discussions.
So, if we discuss Travis’ book here, does that mean he can’t participate in the discussions? Isn’t he more of a text only or textus primus guy?
Haha! Well played, revgeorge. Oi. I’m going to end up changing my point of view just out of the need to defend myself, I fear. There are already things I wish I had included, worded differently, etc.
In reality, I’m a “text first” sort of guy, with the author having an important say on the books, but not a discussion-ending say. If the author says something about her/his book that doesn’t stand up to the text itself, the author can be wrong about her/his own book. But the author gets to be in the discussion, and her/his view on issues are a bit more heavily weighted than others . That’s pretty much where I am on this one right now.
I thought you might get a laugh out of that, Travis. I did think you leaned towards text first, as do I. I just couldn’t resist after all the conversations we’ve had on this topic. Rest assured, I’ll give a higher priority to your comments.
BTW, in addition to Zossima saying your book is due in 3 weeks, they’re also saying that Thomas’ Repotting Harry Potter is up in 4 weeks. Between those two & Tales of Beedle the Bard we should have plenty to keep us in frenzied discussion well into the new year.
