- One of John Granger’s readers found a fascinating link from Rowling’s final words in Harry Potter to the end of an Elizabeth Goudge story. The Little White Horse is the next book I’m picking up after I finish the last 30 pages of Dracula. I’m looking forward to John’s commentary on Goudge in Harry Potter’s Bookshelf.

- Harry Potter & Imagination now has 7 5-star reviews at Amazon! Thanks to the reviewers!
- If you’re near Cookville, TN on March 21, Amy Sturgis is giving the Keynote Address at an English Studies Symposium. She’s called it “Pushing the Boundaries of English Studies: From Middle-earth to Hogwarts.” Wish I could be there!
- PubCast #65 is partly recorded. Hopefully I’ll have it finished up this weekend.

Do you want to know how Dracula ends? I could spoil it for you over at Facebook.
I’m still trying to get a hold of Goudge’s Little White Horse. Had ordered it awhile ago off of Amazon but they kept pushing back the time they would send it to me, so I got frustrated & canceled the order. Haven’t had time to look elsewhere.
Yeah for more pubcast! Yours is the only one I listen to.
The Little White Horse is an enchanting read and often overlooked in the genre children’s literature. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on Goudge!
It’s really a captivating book! I flew through 50 pages in no time last night, and I’m not a fast reader. I fear I’m about to shortchange Sunday School prep just to get back to the book before falling asleep tonight!
Didn’t know where else to post this, so I went back to the most recent “miscellaneous” post.
How many here are acquainted with intrepid boy reporter Tintin, his dog Snowy, his hard drinking friend, Captain Haddock, and their adventures fighting evil doers around the globe?
For those of you in the know, a big treat coming up: Spielberg and Jackson are collaborating on an animated Tintin trilogy, starting with The Secret of the Unicorn I believe they just wrapped up filming part one. Daniel Craig voices Red Rackham, and Andy Serkis does Cap’n Haddock. Jamie Bell (of Billy Elliot) does Tintin.
For those of you who’ve never heard of the lad before, go to your nearest book store and get the illustrated novel of Unicorn There must be twenty or thirty Tintin illustrated novels in all. Very 1930s and 40s, dated cultural references and norms, but all that gives it texture now. And of course, it’s a lot more acessible than Watchmen. Try it.
