Around the Common Room

by Travis Prinzi on July 28, 2006

I’ve mentioned here a few times that I think Harry Potter can and will have a significant positive influence on children and reading. A recent study shows that claim is being upheld so far. I can’t wait till the day I get to introduce Sophia to Harry.

Lumos 2006 is underway. I obviously can’t be there, but I’m very much looking forward to updates from La Shawn Barber, the Muggle Matters guys, and John, when he gets back. I’m certain there will be tons of great stuff to talk about.

But I’m very happy about the birth of your beautiful child! May God bless you with a house full! :D

That is sad! Well, we’ll have to wait for the Muggle Matters guys to tell us all about it, then.

That study is true. I would know because I am 14 going into high schoolin a few weeks. I read the first book in 3rd grade and haven’t been able to stop reading for fun since then. I don’t know if I would have ever liked reading if not for Harry Potter.
