Attention Australian Readers:

This has nothing whatsoever to do with Potter, but…what’s the story with the Cat-Poo Coffee? Have any of you had this? What in the world?

I know there are quite a few of you Australian readers out there, and I demand an explanation. I’m a huge coffee drinker, but I just can’t imagine…

Take that with a grain of salt.

I don’t know any Aussie who would want to par $40 for a cup of coffee for starters. But then, I don’t know all Aussies.

I have heard that in some countries coffee beans that have gone through the digestive tract of some type of animal are use to make a delicacy-type coffee. But a cat!? No way. They’re carnivorous for starters. And having played in sand-pits when I was a kid and found a few “hairy sausages” I doube that the beans could be made to be fit for human consumption. Who’s going to be the first?

Some bloke says “I was fooling around with my cat’s turds and found some coffee beans. I put them in a grinder and plunged them. Would you like to try?” or even better “How does it taste?”

If the bloke was still had all bones intact after this it must really taste good!

A pork pie, for mine.

I’m an Ozzie Travis. And no we’d never pay THAT much for coffee.

However the state they sell it in, Queensland is not very typically Australian. There are a lot of rich elderly folk who may pay that price. Stupid, that’s for sure. But would any normal, down to earth, typical Ozzie, say one like myself pay that much for coffee? HELL NO! Lol. I dislike coffee but I know no one would pay that much for it, well not on a regular basis. Cat crap is not all that nice.

All I can say is the entrepreneur who began this business must be a genius at marketing. I never would have bet such a thing could be consumed on a dare, let alone for 40 dollars!

I read about this coffee a couple of years ago when I was doing some online research about gourmet coffees (I love good coffee). It’s called Kopi Luwak and the US is the main market for it IIRC. It sells for over $500 per pound.

Wow. $500 per pound? I’d like to know which celebrities and billionares are buying it. Next thing you know they’ll be telling us of its health benefits. ;)
