A great Dilbert comic strip for the Harry Potter fan.

I’ve got mixed reactions to this.

I was originally struck by how HP has become so well known that jokes aimed at the masses can be platformed on it. In other words, it has achieved the status of a common reference point in our culture.

Then I thought – but who reads Dilbert? The same people who are into sci-fi and fantasy and gaming, i.e. us.

And last of all I thought that calling the pointy-haired boss Baldemort was an act of sheer genius.

Oh, more people than just geeks read Dilbert. I’m sure lots of people in the business world read it.

Baldamort – why didn’t we come up with this one? It’s perfect. Right up there with Babymort.

Also note how the conversation dealing with one’s social skills becomes connected to wizard-ness, and thus leads to the hilarious “Hairless Potter”(the guy even has HP glasses!) and “Baldemort”! I agree with jensenly–it’s perfect. ;- )
