Half-Blood Prince Movie Moved Up

by Travis Prinzi on April 14, 2009

WB has moved the release date of Half-Blood Prince to July 15, two days earlier.

This actually really annoys me.  I had been looking forward to the release date happening the night before Azkatraz.  I suspect it’ll be good news for most folks, though!

Yeah, most people are taking it as good news, but not me. Like you, I’ve already got my ticket for what was but now is not the premiere at Azkatraz. But if it comes out two days earlier, I’ll see it at the local theater. Wonder if they’re still going to have the line party & even the showing at Azkatraz.

I would think they’d still have the Azkatraz showing. The Imax experience would be quite different from the regular showing at the local theater. And since I was on the wait list for the Azcatraz showing I’m glad to know I can see it before I leave for SF.:-)

I guess starting on Wednesday instead of Friday will give them bigger opening weekend statistics.

I think WB is absolutely mad for doing this. WB needs to stop changing things and just abide by their decisions. The adults going to see this have work, and the kids have school, so are we supposed to just take off the next day if we were originally planning to go to the midnight showing? Whatever, I’m still boycotting opening weekend due to the original change from November to July, so this change really doesn’t affect me other than to reaffirm my belief that WB is run by a bunch of execs that have absolute no idea what they’re doing to the fans with stuff like this. “Let’s just jerk them around a bit.”

Okay, upon further though, I had a brain cramp about school because it’s a July release (unless it’s summer or year-round school), but my point still stands about work.

It’s okay, puckstopper9, you were distraught. :)

puckstopper9, eh?

Is your team playing tonight?

Well, I’m neither a famous Potter scholar like our gracious host, nor loaded with wads of cash like revgeorge… ;)

So, I can’t go to some fancy conference over the summer!

I say bring on HBP tonight!

I have to admit… do you know what the geek in me really wants? A Mystery Science Theater 3000 version of the HP films. I would love to see Servo and Crow take on Gambon.

Okay, I’m going to go looking for MST3K episodes now…

Dave,

You just need to marry a woman who makes a lot of money. ;)

Love the Cthulu plush.

revgeorge, that’s an interesting plan and all. But I’m pretty sure my wife would have something to say about that… :D

Oh, and one other thing! Everytime I’ve looked at your Sta-Puft, I keep thinking we need to cross the streams…

Dave said, “But I’m pretty sure my wife would have something to say about that…”

Yes, that might be a flaw in the plan. Of course, it’s not all wine & roses being married to a pharmacist. Yesterday was certainly a fun day, sending in a whole bunch of money to the IRS. :(

HP Progs has an update on the IMAX showing at Azkatraz. http://www.hpprogs.com/2009/04/16/azkatraz-movie-update/

Apparently they will have the showing on Thursday night.
