I did not dress up, as I have yet to get a full McGonagall outfit, but I did escort a Storm Trooper and a Jedi Padawan around the neighborhood, then came home and watched “Great Pumpkin”. After the kids went to bed, I ate some of their candy. :) But we do have too much candy left over because no one stayed home to pass candy out. Whoops.

Can’t blame you for not dressing up! I came home in a flurry, turned on the porch light and threw the candy in a bowl. We only got two trick-or-treaters, but they were so cute and so enthusiastic that it was totally worth the hustle and bustle. Plus, I’ve got nearly a whole bag of Snickers and the same of Reese’s Pieces left over. I won’t be complaining about that. :D

Oh, but McGonagall is a great person to dress up as–one stern frown and you can freeze people in their tracks. ;)

My annual Halloween ritual is turning out most of the lights in the house so we don’t get trick or treaters & then watching The Rocky Horror Picture Show. ;)

Of course, our excuses for not doing tricks or treats is threefold: My wife is almost always working Halloween night, so there’s no help for me; we don’t have any outside lights on the front of the house so it’s pretty dark; and most important, every time the doorbell rings some cats thunder through the house trying to get away from the door while several others thunder toward the door to see who it is.

But rest assured if we did do tricks or treats we’d give out good old fashioned decadent candy unlike one of my friends whose wife gives out pencils and stickers. Ugh. That’s like getting socks for Christmas.
