It’s getting to the end of a day in which I ate an absurd amount of pie. Which I’m thankful for. Just wanted to make sure I wished all our U.S. readers a Happy Thanksgiving. Hope it’s been a good one! I’m exceedingly thankful for this community here at The Hog’s Head, where we share our love for the shared text of this generation, have the occasional brawl, but mostly dig into the Potter books and related literature with unparalleled enthusiasm and quality of discussion. Thank you all.
I think one or two of the other Blogengamot members were thinking of writing up posts on literature that moved them to gratefulness. I’m not sure if they still plan to do that or not, but feel free to begin that discussion here.

Happy Thanksgiving a day late. Out of town the last day or so & not on the Net much. Still need to watch “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” for my holiday to be completely over.
There is a passage in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows that I’m grateful for. I think about it quite often of late. I will always be grateful to Ms. Rowling for writing it -
“Does it hurt?”
The childish question had fallen from Harry’s lips before he could stop it.
“Dying? Not at all,” said Sirius. “Quicker and easier than falling asleep.”
Its a great comfort to me and I’m counting on it.
Interesting. I actually just wrote about that at ‘Paradoxes’ — the link is here, for those interested. Thinking about HP and Thanksgiving got me going.
Great quote, Joivre. Since I’m in a linking mood, you might like these musings at another site I read. Or not, I guess, but it always gets me thinking.
I went to your link for some musings and Whoosh! That does get you thinking doesn’t it, Mr. Pond. Very beautiful. I think it will take me a few days to figure out what it means to me.
Glad you liked it. ‘Fruit of Lips’ always requires more than one read–that was actually a pretty short post!
