Just one more reason to go to Azkatraz!
Nice!
Great cover art!
The cover is most beautiful and welcoming.
Nice.
Best is the part that says: Volume 1!!!
Really gorgeous cover! Although, at first, the tavern sign image appeared to me as an odd bird, until I looked at it sideways. Perhaps symbolic of the way we read (or don’t read) books.
Oooo! I love it.
Regarding the contribution of Red Hen Productions to the cover, “formatting” isn’t the right word. They took the basic artwork by Michael and made some significant changes – - including redesigning the window, adding the current stone pathway, and other enhancements. Plus the entire back cover was designed by Red Hen. Meaning no disrespect to the artwork by Michael – - – but I don’t want to overlook the beautiful work of the cover’s designer either. Kudos to Michael and the Red Hen!!
Love it!
Yes, Bob’s correct. The word I was looking for when I posted this was “layout,” which is the word Zossima Press uses on the inside of the book, but even that’s not quite enough!
I’ll at least switch from “format” to “layout” in the post when I can get home and edit (IE6 doesn’t play nice with my posts, so I can’t edit from work).
Back cover to be posted soon, by the way.
So, are there any special features in this special Azkatraz edition?

There is a hidden “Hog’s Head Code,” which gives clues to the end of the world, as well as a revelation of the centuries-buried secret that Mozart is still alive – he went into hiding because he invented rock and roll, and they tried to kill him for it. Later, he resurfaced as “Elvis Presley.”
Actually, the Azkatraz logo is on the back, and there are donations going to HPEF charities for every book sold at Azkatraz. I’ll post the back cover and deatils soon.
Anything that doesn’t include a Cub’s World Series victory as part of the End Times is a false prophecy.
I was always partial to Falco’s “Rock Me Amadeus.”
Anything that doesn’t include a Cub’s World Series victory as part of the End Times is a false prophecy.
So, then, you believe the world is going to get worse and worse until the end?
Of course. It’s all in Revelation.
Anything that doesn’t include a Cub’s World Series victory as part of the End Times is a false prophecy.
Well, at least this mean’s the world won’t end for a while.
And, yes, I see the irony in putting a frown next that statement…
Dave, it is the great eschatological hope. At least for Cubs fans.
Plus, whenever I pray “Come quickly, Lord Jesus” it includes the desire for a World Series victory.
Well, for the record, I’m not willing to sacrifice the world for a Cubbie World Series title.
However, St. Louis would be awfully tempting…
I love the cover art! I just wish that more of these books would be available in hardcover editions. Can’t wait to see the back cover art!
This will look very nice next to all the other Potter analysis books that I have. Do you have a final page count for the standard edition, barring the pages which detail Mozart’s Facebook status and the end of the world clues?
I really look forward to this book. I hope it’s out by August. I’ll be reading John Granger’s new book in July, so August would be awesome.
Demarest, from what I understand, this book will be available for an August read, yes.
It’s 200 pages. And just for the record, the code is hidden, so it doesn’t take up any extra space
“Anything that doesn’t include a Cub’s World Series victory as part of the End Times is a false prophecy”.
Travis, I think we should throw in an addition to the Cubs World Series victory End Times theory, like, the Buffalo Bills winning the Super Bowl or the Sabres winning the Stanley Cup!!!
Great work by everyone involved in the cover of your new book. I think the placement of the crescent moon in the backround with our favorite pub fits the mood.
I’m having a “duh” moment and it has nothing to do with the World Series or eschatology. I made a comment about the Hog’s Head sign on the book, but did I ever really look closely at the masthead above? Sigh. Detention from Prof. McGonagall for lack of attention to detail. Or worse, having to follow baseball the rest of the season.
Hey guys. Thanks for the kind words on the cover. It looks quite different to when I sent my final version to Trav, though I am glad you all seem to like it . It was fun working on the piece, and I thank Travis as it really was my first piece of published Illustration work. I just hope a copy is released in Australia so I can get my hands on it.
It is very surreal looking at that image. I started it almost two years ago (the banner was the original version of it as you all know) and since then, as an artist, I have grown and changed so much. It almost feels as though someone else had done it. Crazy.
Thanks again to Travis for giving me that oppurtunity and then persuading the powers that be to let this version of the cover be used for the book! I hope it sells like hot cakes mate. It looks like a great collection.
