Leave it to the comedic genius of Craig Ferguson to take a little air out of the Twilight/Harry Potter “debate”! Given the heat of our last discussion, I thought it fun to laugh at some of the absurdity of it all. A little crude, but otherwise both timely and priceless…
That’s the great Jeffrey Tambor playing Meyer, although he looks a bit more like Anne Rice.

Crude, but hilarious. Thank you Dave. I didn’t stop laughing until it was over. Loved the part where “JK” demonstrates a novel way of making money.
Hehheh. I do like Craig Ferguson, even if his humor tends to be a bit, um , shall we say on the earthy side. Loved the part where “JK” mentioned all the sucking that goes on in the Twilight Books and “Stephanie” said, “Yes, my vampires do a lot of sucking,” and “JK” said, “I was talking about your writing!” Guess nobody does a “cat fight” like two males impersonating females, lol!
I’m glad you guys liked it. I almost rolled in the floor when I saw the sketch on TV last night. My first thought was that I had to track it down on YouTube and post it here.
Pretty darn funny!
FYI, if anyone is interested, you can find some more videos of Ferguson on YouTube — apparently, this JK Rowling talk show bit is something he’s done before. Jamie and I watch Craig pretty regularly (way better than anyone else on late night) and I had never caught the sketch before. But there are other “interviews” on YouTube in which “Rowling” interviews some other big names in pop culture.
I do love his impression of Prince Charles on the “Rather Late Programme.”
That was hilarious! I couldn’t stop laughing; I also loved the bits that Red Rocker and Fricka mentioned. Thanks for posting it, Dave (also completely agree with you that Craig is the best guy on late night and that is his Prince Charles impression is delightful and wickedly funny).
I finally got around to watching this. The scrolling of other vampire lit was great, as was “yes, no one’s ever done a series about magical wizards before. What’s your book again…The Lord of the Rings?!”
There were a few funny bits but, for the most part, this sort of humor is way too crass for me to enjoy.
That wasn’t nice to Jo.
Idc bout Meyer, though.
Thanks for posting Dave, but I’m afraid I had to stop watching at about 2:06. Unbearable.
