I don’t know much about him. He seems to be one of those guys who you see in a show or movie and think, “I know I’ve seen him before, but I can’t remember where.” And that’s because he seems to have done a lot of everything.
I do recall him from the Fires of Pompeii episode of Doctor Who. I see he was on the Torchwood spinoff as well.
Very interesting that they went with an older choice, after all these years of Matt Smith as the youngest Doctor ever. Will a new and older doctor be the end of River Song? (Please?) Clara will remain companion, but I’m guessing the weird romantic tension between her and Matt Smith’s Doctor will not carry over.
Any other thoughts on how this will affect the show, especially from people more familiar with Capaldi?
Everyone should, of course, keep an eye on the thoughts of our resident Who expert, Katherine Sas, who I hope will have a post for us on this soon!
