New Half-Blood Prince Pictures

Five more pictures from the Half-Blood Prince movie we now won’t see until July 17 of next year. Images of Snape, Bellatrix, and Slughorn, and the Slug Club are of interest. (HT to HPANA)

Johnny August 15, 2008 at 12:51 am: Ugh next year. I thought the photos were interesting. I’m glad they’re including the Slub Club scenes from the book, and if Snape is examining the Opal necklace along with McGonagall, then we will see Katie Bell touching it and being cursed. I wonder what scene is that picture of Bellatrix depicting. Probably killing a stray fox near Spinner’s End. Was Bellatrix part of the attack on Hogwarts? I doubt it and I would have to check HBP again. These pics were cool, but all enjoyment is lost in realizing that we have to wait another 11 months for the film.
revgeorge August 15, 2008 at 11:06 am: Cool pictures. I’m not sure where Bellatrix is in that picture. I wouldn’t imagine so much flame in the background for killing a fox in Spinner’s End. Maybe the attack at the Burrow? Or maybe they threw her into the final fight for good measure?

Is it just me or does Bonnie Wright get better looking every film? I assume they have everybody else seated at the Slug Club & her entering so that Harry’ll look up from his conversation with Hermione & go ‘ooff’ when he sees Ginny?

Anyway, I guess the WB publicity machine has gone into overdrive to appease those fanatic HP fans. You’ve got like 8 new pictures out & a WB exec averring that they love HP fans. I guess a script from DH has just been delivered. Wonder when we’ll hear snippets from it.

That photo of Harry & Dumbledore is weird. Looks like they stuck Radcliffe beside a Dumbledore action figure & then pasted an obvious matte set of Hogsmeade behind them.
Dave the Longwinded August 15, 2008 at 4:42 pm: revgeorge, is that Hogsmeade? Or is it the earlier scene in which Harry and Dumbledore are trying to find Slughorn?

And Jonathan is right from the last post. It is getting more and more difficult to hide Radcliffe’s age. He looks like he could break Gambon over his knees in that picture.

I think you’re right. It’s probably more likely when DD & Harry are looking for Slughorn. Still an odd looking picture, though. Perhaps it won’t be noticeable on film.

revgeorge August 15, 2008 at 9:45 pm: Actually, the article, though I seriously doubt its veracity, says early on that the scene would be in DH. It only mentions HBP at the end as having been pushed back by WB.

Of course, there are several naked Harry possibilities in DH: The 7 Potters at the beginning when the others assume his identity, that hot, steamy sex scene in Ginny’s room at the Burrow, his dip in the pool to retrieve the Sword of Gryffindor, & his visit to King’s Cross.

Okay, time to play that old game from Sesame Street, which one of the four scenes I listed isn’t in DH?
