My camera’s zoom doesn’t work, so I wasn’t able to get many good pictures from Portus. I’ll update this post as I find good Portus pictures from various Harry Potter fansites.

Travis, forgot to say thank you for the pictures. It’s great you all got to meet Jim Dale, although so far I still prefer Stephen Fry. But I will say that Dale does a great opening to Deathly Hallows. Hearing the passion he puts into reading The Libation Bearers gives me the shivers. ‘Course I haven’t heard the Fry version yet. Still too pricey.
revgeorge, yeah, I still prefer Fry also, but Dale grew on me a bit. You can definitely tell the guy is a stage actor. His readings at Portus were better than his recorded readings, because he had a crowd to work with.
Penny said something similar on their latest Prog cast. That when you see him in person you can see all the motions & body language that Dale puts into his readings. Too bad they couldn’t video him as he did the readings for the books. That’d be neat to have.
There are some videos on youtube of dale doing other readings and you can see how dynamic he is. BTW, Travis- that picture of us on the panel is funny. You look either really annoyed or like you are trying to concentrate REALLY hard on something.
I know. I have no idea what I was thinking at the time.
Maybe we can make that the question for the next give-away.

Oh, great idea! Caption contest. Of course, everyone’s got ideas in their heads, and they’ll have to wait till August for the contest…
But if everyone can do that, that would be a fun contest. We can have the Blogengamot vote on the best caption, and the best caption wins the giveaway.
