Prophecy Reset

by Travis Prinzi on June 27, 2007

I’ve had to hit the “reset” button on all my plans for upcoming posts and podcasts.  I’ve just realized there are only 35 days left until Prophecy 2007, where I will be giving these presentations, none of which are anywhere near completion.  The PubCast I’ve been trying to get recorded for a few days now is officially on pause until the weekend, when I will record based on the work I’ve been doing on the Prophecy presentations.

Not only that, but there’s only 23 days before the book release, and then you’ll have a lot of reading to do, to see how to integrate whatever happens in the book into your topics.

I don’t envy you. It sounds like a lot of work.

Don’t sweat it, Travis. You’ll do fine. You’re a good speaker, a thoughtful analyst, and you make pretty watertight arguments.

And as S_B said some time ago, it’s highly unlikely that the wizarding world will change so drastically in book 7. What we find out in book7 wil only deepen, not alter, our fundamental understanding of that world.

And don’t forget, you’ve got willing house elves of your own on these threads. Any thought you want explored, just toss it our way, and we’ll pick it clean for you.

Nice encouragement there from Reyhan.

What a nice community we’ve got here!

“Pick it clean”. Very well chosen words. Of all the Harry Potter related websites I’ve visited, this is definitely one of the most analytical and passionate, although not as well-known as others.

Take your time with the PubCast. We’re patient people who will find many other ways to amuse ourselves (such as picking clean all the previous threads). ;)

Good luck on the presentations, and excellent podcast. Also, you all might enjoy these lectures based on Granger’s book: http://kingsmeadow.com/wilburblog.html

That’s fine Travis. Will anyone be recording you talks? I can’t make it there but would love to see them. You should have someone tape it and then upload it. You Tube perhaps?

Travis, isn’t it a pity that all the time-turners have been destroyed in book 5?

Take your time with the PubCast, the last 2 years have taught us all patience! Don’t worry about the presentations, you’ll do fine, just like Reyhan said, you’re an excellent speaker and analyst.

Stephen H–I checked your blog, and it looks interesting, but I’ll have to come back later to it. However, are you in Franklin? I have friends who live near there and we spent a delightful afternoon having tea at Lillie Belle’s, and another having fabulous chocolate at the Cocoa Tree, not to mention all the interesting historical sites everywhere.

Thanks for the link.

Mia, I keep holding out that there are other ways to time travel.

Travis, I’m sure you’ll do great. I wish I could go.

Did you ever see that movie with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymore called Somewhere in Time?

Apparently, all you need to do to time-travel is to to believe and will it to happen strong enough. Kind of like a chrono-astral travel. But make sure not to take any articacts from your normal time (like a penny in your pocket) because just looking at one will snap you back to your time of origin- BAM!
