How did you find The Enchanted Castle & how are you finding “Till We Have Faces?”

Between you & John, my number of books to read keeps expanding! I just ordered Goudge’s book today. I’ve been thinking of ordering Rhetoric of Fiction which John recommended.

I have Paradise Lost but have only read selections from it. And I’ve only read bits & pieces of Alice in Wonderland, although I did like the Tom Petty video on it. :)

Dracula–Great Book!! Glad you took my recommendation. Anderson’s tales I’ve read or seen in so many forms it’s hard to remember which is which sometimes. And The Silmarillion…Great, great book although I don’t read it all that much because of the great sadness of the tales of Middle-Earth.

The Enchanted Castle was fantastic. I need to go back and re-read the last several chapters. The whole story took a few turns I was not expecting.

I’m really enjoying Till We Have Faces. Just over 2/3 of the way through. Really tremendous writing.

I’m glad you’re enjoying Till We Have Faces. It’s my favorite Lewis work, even as much as I love the Narnia series. And it is among his best writing. I think the fruit of all his previous writing. And I’m sure you’re finding all sorts of gems in it for much fruitful study. :)

I need to start reading Enchanted Castle. Maybe I should’ve skipped Twilight & started on Nesbit. ;)

I love Till We Have Faces… one of my all time favorite books! And let’s not forget that Lewis heavily collaborated with his wife in writing it! :)

Dracula was one of my year 8 highschool novels to study. I’d only seen some Dracula movies previous to reading it and knew little of the story. I was surprised by a lot of what I read.

I read that Christopher Lee would be happy to portray Dracula again on the big screen ONLY if it was faithful to the book.

The Silmarillion will deepen your appreciation of LOTR incredibly. LOTR is really a foot note to the story of the cosmos presented in the Silmarillion. Great stuff!

Good luck at getting a version of Dracula out that’s faithful to the book! But that would be sweet if they could, especially with Christopher Lee in it.

I’ll be reading Dracula this semester for a 19th century British Novel class. Which of Andersen’s tales was your favorite?

I came across some PDF’s you can download The Works of Hans Christian Andersen (1805 – 1875 Danish) in Adobe’s ® Acrobat ® Portable Document File format from Penn State’s Electronic Classics Series http://www2.hn.psu.edu/faculty/jmanis/hc_andersen.htm
I got The Little White Horse, by Elizabeth Goudge at Barnes & Nobel today after work. I want to thank you (all) for the suggestion of the audiobook of Andrew Peterson’s fantastic book, On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness it’s a wonderful story.
