Here’s an article by someone else who believes Rowling is utilizing Christian themes in the Harry Potter series.
The telling genius of author J.K. Rowling is the way she has tapped into one of the most fundamental archetypes of human existence – the Christ figure.
The author is apparently unaware of the Vancouver Sun interview, since JKR is said to be utilizing the Christ figure “unconsciously.” A few facts are a bit off, a brief and interesting look at the subject nonetheless.
