Rowling Conspiracy Theory

by Travis Prinzi on December 1, 2005

J.K. RowlingThis is exceedingly odd (and perhaps stupid as well). A Norwegian film director is arguing (for no apparently good reason) that J.K. Rowling is being played by an actress, and that her rags to riches story is all a marketing ploy. The books are being written by other folks behind the scenes.

Of course, the guy can’t even get his facts straight, still passing along the old story that JKR actually started writing the first book on napkins. Actually, she used real paper, and there are boxes upon boxes of back story. It’s just kind of sad that this kind of conspiracy theory nonsense has to happen.

In other trivial news, Harry Potter is more popular than George W. Bush in the blogosphere.

I suspect Harry is more popular than Bush in many spheres, maybe including the East Wing. ;)
