Azkatraz 2009

azkatraz The Forming Programming Schedule for Azkatraz has been released!  There are lots of great talks slated for this conference, and I’m as excited about going to other presentations as I am about giving my own.  Azkatraz begins Friday, July 18 and ends Tuesday, July 21.  Here are my speaking days and times:

  • Saturday, 3pm – 4pm: Feminism and Romance, Panel Discussion (Sadly, in competition with one of John Granger’s time slots)
  • Sunday, 2pm to 3pm: “How Half-Bloods Became Purebloods,” Solo Presentation
  • Sunday, 3:30pm – 4:30pm: “The Life of Severus Snape,” Panel Discussion (Moderator)
  • Monday, 3pm – 4:30pm: “The Postmodern Potions Master,” Solo Presentation
  • Monday, 8ish or 9ish – The Podcast Palooza.  My portion of this show will be a panel discussion with James W. Thomas, John Granger, and myself, moderated by Greg and Penny of HP Progs.  The Palooza starts at 8 or 9, and we’re the second podcast to go.

See the rest of the great programming here!  Have you registered for Azkatraz yet?  It’s going to be a great conference!

MythCon 40

by Travis Prinzi on November 13, 2008

Randy Hoyt, good friend of the Hog’s Head and proprietor of Journey to the Sea, emailed me tonight with the Call for Papers for MythCon 40, which will be held in Los Angeles July 17-20, 2009.  My hope, at this point, is to be in California for a few days during this period of time, spending some time both at MythCon 40 and at Azkatraz 2009.  I’ll submit proposals for both and keep you and my “Schedule” page updated as I hear back from the vetting boards for each.

The Harry Potter series won a 2008 Mythopoeic Award from Children’s Fantasy.
